Kila has built up an awesome reputation as one of Ireland's best live acts, as anyone who has ever attended one of their gigs will testify. They firmly established themselves on the international live circuit in 1999, playing at prestigious festivals such as the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Hearing the World Festival in Tel Aviv, WOMAD in Reading and touring extensivley in the US, Australia (where they have charted) and New Zealand.
The 7-piece Dublin based band have been well received critically both at home and internationally. The US Billboard magazine stated that "Kila are positioned to be the next big thing on the world-music scene", whilst closer to home Folk Roots described the band as "Wild Compulsive Celtic Dance Music."
A strong reason for Kila's success, both critically and in the charts, is the diversity of the music, taking ambient and modern sounds, fusing them and creating their own unique sound with an "infectious dance undertow."
