Named after the string instrument featured in their music, Yat Kha are a totally a totally unique folk-rock group from Tuva, an autonomous region of Russian central Asia, known for its rich and distinctive vocal tradition of throat-singing. The Washington Press describes the unusual dual and triple note overtones of Tuvan throat singers as having "a pulsing, rolling quality sustained for lung-aching duration...capturing the essence of everflowing water and ever-flowing wind."
